NI Civil Service XC, Stormont

Deane Fisher completed a hat-trick by winning the Civil Service Cross Country for the third year in succession but was given a scare en route by Willowfield team mate Alan Mccullough. Fisher went straight to the lead and looked safe but Mccullough closed dramatically on the last downhill and even hit the front before Fisher came back to win by a stride. Gregory Walsh came third Terry Eakin took the M50 from Ray Curran, and Paul Murphy with Gerry Lynch notching up another M60 success ahead of Brian Smith and Davy Seaton. Karen Marshall was simply superb as she passed early leader Suzanne Mccormick to win the ladies by 22 seconds.

Louise Mclean was first home for NIVAA in the FV35 catetory followed by Aluynne Shannon, Ruth Magill, H Kernagahan, then Stephanie Hambling, Debbie Matchett, Fionnula McCourt, Sharon Fox Webber, Dianne WIlaon, ML Kerr, Bridget Quinn, Susanna Allen, Kate Montgomery, Jeanette Burton and Marion Hayes. Well done to all athletes.
