The course was magnificent in every way. The feed back without
exception was positive. The NIAF Officials carried out as usual
a sterling job from time keeping to marshalling and the many other
tasks that make an event successful. |

Finegan who has won Gold at the World Masters Championships, Riccione
in winning the Heptathlon World title and a Silver in the 400m hurdles.
The NIVAA on behalf of all our members wish Geraldine much more
success in the future and congratulations on a fantastic performance
at the World Masters. |

| Deane Fisher completed a hat-trick
by winning the Civil Service Cross Country for the third year in
succession but was given a scare en route by Willowfield team mate
Alan Mccullough. Fisher went straight to the lead and looked safe
but Mccullough closed dramatically on the last downhill and even
hit the front before Fisher came back to win by a stride. MORE

McKinney struck gold in the Northern Ireland and Ulster championships
at Castle Park Bangor. The Letterkenny athlete drew clear of the
200 strong field early on along with Alan Mccullough,David Morwood
and Kieran Carlin. At half distance it was Mckinney from Mccullough
with Pauric going on to win by 26 seconds. Finn Valley were easy

Down XC Relays -

Eight
3 man teams competed in the Vets race in this years North Down XC
Relay held on Saturday. North Belfast retained their title with
Paul Murphy, Davy Clarke and Eddie Burns making up the winning team.
Eddie ran the fastest leg of the day.

Africans triumphed in both main races held in
perfect conditions at this years Stormont International Cross Country.
Alistair Cragg set Irish eyes smiling by taking the early lead but
it was holder Dathan Ritzenhein who came through at the end of the
